When you enter into a commercial relationship with thenewsoil we will ask you for Personally Identifiable Information (PII), this information will be retained for as long as is required for both the purposes of the commercial engagement and any law within New Zealand.

Examples of the PII that will be requested are:

• Name
• Email Address
• Billing Address

thenewsoil will not provide your PII to any third-party, unless approved by yourself and only for purposes related to the commercial engagement e.g. invoicing and payments systems.

This PII is collected to identify and provide services to you.

thenewsoil does collect information from third-party sources that contains PII, at present those sources are:

• NZ Companies Office registers which contain the names and addresses of Directors and Shareholders.
• Land Information New Zealand Proprietor and Encumbrancee Data, effectively property owners and interested parties.

This list was last updated on the 13th of July 2025. The list will be updated as new sources are collected.

thenewsoil honours all obligations required under any licensing agreements and the New Zealand Privacy Act in regard to these sources. thenewsoil will not provide the PII from these sources to any customer or third-party.
